Many people ask us how we got our Coffee Shop name. My name is Sheryl and my moms name is Karen (one of our awesome cooks, chefs, bakers), so sometimes people think it's a combo. Sadly...it's not. The name Shirley K came about when I was in nursing school (a few years ago...at least I'll say a few). Some of my fellow nursing buddies and I had signed up for a weekend long seminar. When we arrived to check in there was a problem. I was not listed. I waited and waited while everyone else was seated and finally one of the staff members came over and said that they were very sorry but they had only one packet left and that one packet belonged to a Shirley Kay Poniday (who strangely hadn't checked in yet). My eyes got big as I looked at the signature scrawled across the packet...yep...it was my chicken scratching. Sheryl Kay Paisley. I had to explain that it was MY horrible handwriting and that I was really the late arriving Shirley Kay Poniday! I then had to wear a name tag that blatently stated "Hello...I'm Shirley Kay Poniday" for 2 days. My friends never let me forget it and called me Shirley Kay Poniday from then on. So...years later, when we got the opportunity to open up the coffee shop, and we were tossing names around...Shirley K was first on our list.

...and if you want 'em we'll ship 'em! We keep a wide variety of fair trade, fresh roasted coffee beans at our shop. We keep some of the basics and add a few different tastes on a whim. If you need beans call us up and ask about our specially blended TALL DARK STRANGER whole bean coffee, or one of my favorites...BOURBON STREUSAL beans or maybe you want plain old COLOMBIAN or DARK ROAST ALLY CAT espresso. If you can't have caffiene...drink water. Just kidding. We do have some decaf beans as well...FRENCH ITALIAN is one and it's a nice tasting one at that. You get the drift.
